FROM DEPENDABLE DRIVE-IN - We would like to welcome you back to the drive in, however we must ask that you attend safely. There are a few guidelines you must follow when attending the drive in to ensure both your safety and everyone else’s. While we strive to keep a fun and relaxed atmosphere, safety is very important. Anyone not following these guidelines will be asked to leave immediately without a refund.

1. If you are not feeling well, please do not attend. We will be happy to see you when you are feeling well!

2. We ask that you wear protective masks except when situated in your space.

3. All vehicles, even family members with multiple cars MUST maintain 6 foot spacing between vehicles.

4. If you are purchasing food at the Concession Stand, please ensure 6 foot social distance between you and any other parties.

5. Only two people will be allowed in the restrooms at any given time. Exceptions can be made for parents with multiple children. We will also be periodically closing the restrooms briefly for sanitation, we ask for your patience.

6. Guests must have a vehicle, walk-ins and motorcycles will not be permitted.

7. If you feel uncomfortable visiting the drive in during this time, we understand. Please consider waiting to pay the drive in a visit a little later once things have settled down.

8. This is a work in progress, and may change periodically depending on the progression of Covid 19. We are all in uncharted territory and must get through this together. We ask for your cooperation, patience, and understanding during this time. We will eventually get back to the normal ways, but the better we follow these guidelines the quicker that will be. If you feel uncomfortable with any of these guidelines, we ask that you stay home and attend once we no longer need these. Also if you are a member of a high risk group, please use caution when deciding on attending. If you know or believe you were exposed to anyone with Covid 19 in the past two weeks, please wait to attend the drive in.

Invitation to July 11th picnic

Hello all Picnickers!!! Please read the entire email, as there are changes again.

We are having a July Celebration Weekend Picnic, July 11, 2021 at Deer Browse grove in North Park. This is the second picnic event of 2021 and is a Life Celebration Picnic honoring Karen Smith and Doug Snyder. They were among the few starters of the summer holiday picnics that grew to have so many attendees. They started with about 12 people and grew to over 100 people per picnic over 10 years.

The picnic will be held on Sunday, July 11th at DEER BROWSE #1 from noon to close.

This time, we are providing Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, buns, condiments, paper plates, and utensils. Bottled water will also be provided.  We will start grilling the Hamburgers and Hot Dogs by 2 pm

Any amount you can contribute to cover the cost of the grove rental and food would be greatly appreciated. A cup will be on the food table for your donations.

Please bring a dish to pass. You need to bring your own non-alcoholic drinks (we do not purchase an alcohol permit),  other utensils if needed, lawn chairs, tables, games and anything else you may want or need. Children, family and friends, pets, etc. and whatever and whoever you might want to come are welcome.

I have updated the list from last picnic , but there are still missing email addresses for people on Karen's email lists (over 200). We need to rely on word of mouth, so please SPREAD THE WORD.  There will be a sign-up clipboard at the picnic for those who depend on email, but again, I must rely heavily on word of mouth, so please SPREAD THE WORD and forward the email to others.

Pass the word to others!!  TO EVERYONE!   These picnics were always a good time and with great company.

DEER BROWSE is located between the swimming pool and Pie Traynor field / parking lot. So start out as if you were going around the swimming pool, but IMMEDIATELY turn right - away from the swimming pool - and before you reach the large parking lot for Pie Traynor field you will see DEER BROWSE on the right close to the road. You may park in the large Pie Traynor lot and walk back.

The North Park groves are not accessible by navigation apps.  You may pull up a map from the Allegheny County parks website and locate it by that method.  Or, for verbal directions to Deer Browse grove or with any other questions, please feel free to call, text or email me per the information below.

See you Sunday, July 11th, anyone time from noon to close. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
