 We will resume our Sports & Games Nights on 1st & 3rd Fridays starting June 4th!

Friday, June 4th - Volleyball and Board Games from 7:30 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.

2nd floor Union Place

Rules:

As of now, masks are required and people are asked to try to stay 3 feet apart. No outside food can be brought (except water bottles). Light snacks will be provided by the church.

FYI: Karen and Doug Life Celebration Picnic, Memorial Weekend May 30, 2021.

Hello all Picnickers!!! Please read the entire email, as there are changes.

We are having a Memorial Weekend Picnic, May 30, 2021 at Deer Browse grove in North Park. This is the first picnic event since the start of Covid. We are re-starting the Summer Holiday Picnics as a Life Celebration Picnic honoring Karen Smith and Doug Snyder. They were among the few starters of the summer holiday picnics that grew to have so many attendees. They started with about 12 people and grew to over 100 people per picnic over 10 years.

 

This is important and a change from prior picnic events. The picnic will be held on Sunday, May 30th at DEER BROWSE #1 from noon to 6:00 pm. This is a Bring Your Own Stuff edition to the picnic. For this restart, we are NOT providing any meat, buns, other food items, utensils, table service or table coverings or additional tables, tents, and chairs. NOR WILL we do the grilling. You need to bring your own food, non-alcoholic drinks (we do not purchase an alcohol permit), grill and grill utensils if needed, table settings, lawn chairs and anything else you may want or need. Again, if you want it, YOU must bring it. Children, family and friends, pets, games etc. and whatever and whoever you might want to come are welcome. You may bring a dish to pass if you choose, but this is not necessary.

I only have a few (46) of the emails addresses for people on Karen's email lists (over 200), I need to rely on word of mouth, so please SPREAD THE WORD.  If you have any prior email lists or saved a prior email from Karen's picnic notifications, please let me know.  There will be a sign-up clipboard at the picnic for those who depend on email, but again, I must rely heavily on word of mouth, so please SPREAD THE WORD and forward the email to others.

 

We will be asking your desires to/if to continue these picnic events going forward and what these events will look like. IE., like they were before or a bring your own stuff event.

Pass the word to others!!  TO EVERYONE!   These picnics were always a good time and with great company.  

 

DEER BROWSE is located between the swimming pool and Pie Traynor field / parking lot. So start out as if you were going around the swimming pool, but IMMEDIATELY turn right - away from the swimming pool - and before you reach the large parking lot for Pie Traynor field you will see DEER BROWSE on the right close to the road. You may park in the large Pie Traynor lot and walk back, but don't continue driving around the one-way loop toward Lilac grove, which we used in previous years.

Anything that you want to contribute for the cost of the grove rental would be appreciated.

 

The North Park groves are not accessible by navigation apps.  You may pull up a map from the Allegheny County parks website and locate it by that method.  Or, for verbal directions to Deer Browse grove or with any other questions, please feel free to call, text or email me per the information below
